  • Six years after the abduction of 276 schoolgirls, jihadist group Boko Haram had seized students from an all-boys boarding school in Katsina, northwest Nigeria, to punish them for “un-Islamic practices.” 333 were missing and assumed captive. Boko Haram claim of responsibility, surprising some analysts, marking a departure from the extremist group’s usual area of operation in the country’s northeast.
