  • AFGHANISTAN: Taliban fighters have launched 368 terrorist attacks in various parts of 22 provinces of the country during the last week, as a result 49 civilians lost their lives.

ASSAULTS/ATTACKS:

  • PHILIPPINES: Two bombs exploded in a southern Philippines town. The first blast was a homemade bomb on a parked motorcycle. The second blast was carried out by a female suicide attacker. A third, unexploded bomb was reportedly found in a public market. The combined explosions killed seven soldiers, six civilians and one police officer. The attacks are suspected to have been masterminded by Abu Sayyaf terrorist group.

ASSAULTS/ATTACKS:

  • AFGHANISTAN: an Islamic State suicide bomber drove a car laden with explosives up to a prison detonating the bomb, and then the IS militants opened fire, achieving that some of the 1,500 prisoners, much of them believed to be IS members, escaped.  The Islamic State in Khorasan Province claimed responsibility for the attack.

ASSAULTS:

  • BANGLADESH: A bomb went off inside the Pallabi police station, wounding four police officers. The assault was claimed by ISIL, but the government has consistently denied the presence in the country of any transnational armed groups.
